Honoring Founder
Coach Harvey Lee Everhardt
1934 – 2014
In1967, Coach Harvey Lee Everhardt established the Poughkeepsie Tighten-Ups, starting with ten members which increased to over 300.
He was a Pop-Warner football coach for over 30 years and a member of Beulah Baptist Church, singing in the men’s choir.
Mr. Everhardt also taught boxing at the YMCA and served as community counselor to the local youth. These are just a few of a long list of contributions he made to the city of Poughkeepsie and surrounding areas.
